“Google” is world’s biggest search engine and everyone know what Google is, but still there are some interesting and amazing facts about Google. These facts are not know to all, lets have a look on some of the few amazing facts about ‘Google’.
#1. Do you know that world’s biggest search engine, Google, rents Goats from a firm named California Grazing. In fact, these goats help Google to cut down on the amount of weed at its HQ. Google said it is “a lot cuter to watch than lawn mowers.”
#2. Google has simple and nominal homepage design and this is one of the biggest reasons that Google is most popular as compared to other search engines like Yahoo!, MSN and AltaVista. However, it would be interesting to know that simple design of homepage is due to less knowledge of HTML to Google founder Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
#3. It is said that YouTube’ co-founder Steve Chen wanted to meet officials of Google and Yahoo!, though they do not want to meet at any office so they decided to meet over mozzarella sticks at Denny’s in Palo Alto. Google closed the meeting with winning bid for YouTube.
#4. The very first homepage of Google was ‘Doodle’ and each doodle shows special event for every single day. On the occasion of Easter Sunday, Google Doodle used eggs as the O’s in the word ‘Google’.
#5. During February 1999, the chewy candy known as “Swedish Fish” has became the first company to pass order at Google office.

#6. It would be interesting to know that the very first tweet by Google was “I’m 01100110 01100101 01100101 01101100 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01101100 01110101 01100011 01101011 01111001 00001010.” And, in binary, it stands for ‘ I am feeling lucky’.
#7. Until March 31, 2001, Google’s logo was not centered on the homepage. In fact, earlier it used to have on the left-hand side.
#8. Another interesting fact is that Google users never used the ‘I am feeling lucky’ button, though the decision of removing the button has made people unhappy. So it is not removed.
#9. The first ever Google storage was from LEGO!, that too in 1988 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. During their research, they need huge disk space, so that joint 10 disk of 4GB each and assembled into a Lego.
#10. Last but not the least, the name Google was actually an accident, and it was a spelling mistake by the original founder as they want to set name as ‘GooGol’.
